Sundance Shenanigans

Each year Sundance passes through my hometown, Salt Lake City, Utah. Each year my friends and I tell ourselves we’re not going to go up to Park City and we want to stay away from the chaos. Salt Lake and Park City truly comes to life during the two weeks of Sundance. People from all over come to watch independent film makers creations and bask in the “celebrity” lifestyle. Which ends up being completely crazy for us locals, but very beneficial for this lovely city we live in! Salt Lake and Park City are amazing in all aspects. So I’m very happy to share where I live with others. It just puts a damper on my life for a couple weeks. 🙂

Of course the crew decided to head up to Park City. We seem to have friends who are involved with events, putting on shows, hosting parties, etc. So finding something to do seems pretty easy. It’s the driving, parking, walking around in the cold, avoiding the hoards of people, dodging the drunks and crazies, and getting to our destination that seems trying. Once we get where we need to be, it really is a great time.

This year we hung out at Deer Valley lodge. Our friends rented out some space for some parties and it’s always a fun time supporting them and shakin’ our tail feathers for a while.

This year I was lucky enough to spot this handsome man and grab a quick photo with him.

I will admit, I have never watched or really heard of Entourage until this evening. My friends said it’s a great show and I need to watch it. I honestly remember Adrian Grenier from the movies: The Devil Wears Prada and She Drives Me Crazy! Haha! He was in a rush but I got lucky and got a photo!

The crew. I have some pretty great friends!

My photo collection wouldn’t be complete without a silly photo with this guy! We’d be walking down Main Street and people will yell out, “Hey Nappi! What’s up dude?” He laughs because he NEVER knows who is shouting out to him. I guess that’s the life of a clothing designer.

These pieces were at Deer Valley. The event was held in the parking garage and they had decorated it up with wood pallets, made a make-shift stage and had an amazing pianist perform.

The night wouldn’t be complete without sitting on this gem. We went to another venue to see some friends and this huge purple velvet high heel was just waiting for me to get my picture on her.

I don’t think anyone can keep up with this guy. He plans and creates the best events! Sleepless nights, coordinating the impossible and having it all come together perfectly is a small description of what this guy can do!

Even though I was ready to call it a night one hour after arriving, we did have a great time. Saw some old friends, made some new ones and ran into a couple “celebrities”… Sundance is quite the experience! If you haven’t checked it out, definitely put it on your bucket list!

October 10th… My big 30…and plus some…

So here are a few moments of “catch up” in Sindee and Kendyl’s world. Currently, I think I’m dying. I’ve been sick for the past 5-6 days with “strep” but have recently developed a cough, continued body aches, constant headache, cold sweats, hot sweats, ear throbbing pain, one nostil is plugged thing, and it’s really making me mad! Hopefully I can get back to 100% so I can join the world of the living.
Here’s the run down on what we’ve been up to. Hold on to your pants!
1. Kendyl’s field trip to Utah’s Musem of Natural History!

Kendyl and this huge mammoth… she looks so tiny next to this thing!

2. National Talk Like A Pirate Day

Arg! My dearest friend Brittney and her hubby Mike threw a raggin’ party on National Talk Like A Pirate Day! Kendyl and I dressed up like pirates and had a ball!

Britt, Kendyl, and Mike! Such scary pirates!

Pete, my date!
Kendyl, Adam, and Avery! They were playing find the treasure, battling with swords, and eating lots of veggies (that’s what pirates eat!) They were so cute!

3. Ingrid Michaelson

I heart Ingrid. I saw her three summers ago and fell in love her! My friends Britt, Jeanette, Natalie, Brenda, and Emily got tickets and went to her show at In The Venue. She is so incredible. She is real, funny, and is a natural entertainer.
Unforunately, the venue has made the upstairs standing only, so Emily, being preggers, sat down stairs with Brenda while the rest of us stood up top. They still enjoyed the show, but I wish we could have all sat together….

Ingrid and her crew…

Don’t worry… if you’re feelin’ a little gasy? Natalie has the cure. That girls purse has it all! Who knew they made GasX in thin strips??

I’m really not upset, I was more worried I was going to drop my phone while taking this photo!

4. Finally, my big 30th

I think I’m the only one who throws themselves their own birthday party… but I love birthdays! And I love mine! I think my 30th celebration lasted about 4 days… and then some.
Friday I went shopping and to dinner with Blake… Delicious Cucina Toscana! Yummers! I love that place and it was such a fun night!
Saturday we had the fun bunny hops which was a downer, but it didn’t stop us from celebrating that night! A group of my close friends gathered at Settobellos! I love their Margarita pizza! I inhale that thing like the air we breath! After filling our bellies, we headed over to Keys on Main! Man, talk about a crazy time! All of my friends came from work, school, old, new, and just everyone I love was there to hang out!

Thanks to my PACT friends, Nappi and Steven, I got called up on stage… How embarrassing! It’s different if you can sing along to the song, dance a little, shake your bon bon… but when it’s a song you’ve never heard and they’re saying explicit language you wouldn’t want your mom to hear? That’s when I get embarrassed! I had a red boa and I’m pretty sure my face matched!

Thank goodness for Teisha! She saved my bacon! I couldn’t stand to be up there solo!
Sunday the Savage clan got together for my birthday dinner. Kendyl helped make cheese cake for my birthday cake!
I had a terrific 30th and am very excited for a new decade!
